Abib International Schools offers admissions to pupils/students who apply first as more applications are received than the School can accommodate. Abib international school offers provisional admissions, with an excellent transition programme which ensures a smooth link from:
- Reception
- Nursery 1 – 2
- Basic 1 – 6
- Junior Secondary School JS1-3 (Grades 7 – 9)
Application forms cost five thousand naira (N2,000) only and can be purchased from The Abib International School Office or completed on our website. The application form will only be sold to parents whose child meets the age requirement. The school reserves the right to decline admission to Parents whose child does not meet all the requirements for admissions.
Students seeking admission into the following Year Group at the start of a school year in September must reach the required age by 31 August in that same year. The required age is:
- Year 2 – 3 years old (Reception)
- Year 3 – 4 years old (Nursery)
- Year 5 – 8 years old (Basic 1 – 3)
- Year 8 – 10 years old (Basic 4 -6)
- Year 10 – 11 years old (JSS 1)
- Year 11 – 12 years old (JSS2)
- Year 12 – 13 years old (JSS3)
Children who do not meet the age entry requirements will not be permitted to sit for the entrance examination. The school will not normally accept admissions into Years 11, except in special circumstances, and at the Principal’s discretion.
For the purpose of proper documentation and effective record keeping, it is important that you fill in the application form completely and correctly. All required supporting documents must be uploaded.
The form should be completed by the parent or guardian and duly signed and NOT by the child. Applications forms will be accepted on confirmation of payment of the application fee.
Please state your child’s or ward’s name and surname as you want them to appear on all his or her school records. The names supplied follows the child all through his/her stay at The Abib International School and appear on his/her reports and certificates.
Ensure that the e-mail address given is active to facilitate communication.
Attach two recent passport-sized photograph, photocopies of First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), Birth certificate, Medical fitness certificate. If your child is transferring to Abib International School from another School, please attach the Transfer Certificate and reference from the Principal of that school to the application. The duly completed application form should be returned to the school’s Administrative Office. The Admissions Office will thereafter advise you of the dates available to sit for our Entrance test.
All applicants will be required to sit for the School’s Entrance Test which lasts for 3 hours. English & Mathematics are the subjects tested. Entrance tests are scheduled for January, August and March. Additional testing sessions are offered at a later date if any.
Candidates should come along with writing materials, mathematical sets and a non-programmable calculator to write the test. Students are expected to perform at average (60%) or above average in order to be granted admission.
The School reserves the right NOT to admit a child even if he/she has passed the entrance tests.
Abib International Nursery, Primary and Secondary School academic year starts in September and ends in July. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible. Application for admission will only be processed when all necessary documents as listed in the application form are received.
Once admission has been offered, acceptance is indicated by the payment of a onetime Capital Developmental fee which is NON-REFUNDABLE. Prospective pupils/students who fail to secure their place within the designated period may forfeit their admission and their space is given to other candidates.
- Completed Application Form.
- Immediate Past Academic Records.
- A copy of child’s birth certificate or international passport data page
- Two recent coloured passport photograph of the child.
- Medical fitness certificate
- Transfer letter from previous school (If you are transferring from different school)
- First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
